London Apartments - Where, which, why?

London Apartments - Where, which, why?

Obviously when visiting London you want to be staying in a central location. There is no point in staying far out as you waste hours every day coming in and out of the city's main areas. Having said that, London is a big city and there is still many different places to choose from within the centre. It is recommended to stay with in zone one of the tube map; This is north of the river and means you are well-connected by bus and tube, and will never be far from what you want to see.
The central zone is pretty busy throughout but some areas tend to be more self contained and residential. If you are in the south west area (anywhere with post code SW) you will find there are fewer flashing lights of Picadilly Circus or Leicester Square but more quiet bars and pubs and lots of housing. Here you will also find famous museums like The Natural History Museum and V&A in South Kensington and famous shops like the flagship House of Fraser store, Harrods.
If however you want the vibrant, non-stop life mentioned above then you are better off staying in a tourist centred area. The famous hotels like The Ritz, which is on Picadilly, are a classic example of these places but London is too big a city to categorise or quantify each separate area. No one borough is reknowned for the best nightlife, shopping etc.  everything is scattered across the city. As a result you want to focus on being well-connected and in an area that you feel comfortable in.
London apartments, on the whole, are very well maintained so all you need to do is research your location and then find your London accommodation. If you are in a group, you cannot go wrong with a London apartment. They average out at about 30% cheaper than a hotel and you all get to stay together in one place, with the use of a kitchen if you want to save money and eat in.
